Dr. Zhang grew up in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He graduated with distinction from Louisiana State University in 2005 with a B.S. in Biochemistry. Dr. Zhang received his Medical Doctorate degree, with distinction, in 2009 from Louisana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. He completed his Neurosurgery residency in 2016 from Louisiana State University Health Science Center. Dr. Zhang was trained in all areas of Neurosurgery, with specific emphasis on complex spinal disorders, brain tumors and vascular lesions.
In August 2016, Dr. Zhang began private practice at Neurosurgery Specialists as a general neurosurgeon. He provides care to patients who are experiencing problems within the brain, the spine and peripheral nerves. Dr. Zhang's areas of special interest include brain tumors; degenerative and complex spinal disorders; spinal trauma; and vascular lesions.
